so i was reading up on the pairing clownfish page and i am wondering this. if a clown is not sexually mature for 12 to 24 months- is that the same if the clown is alone with no other clowns or will it turn female sooner than the 12-24 months. i ask because I have a clown that was born in june (i believe) and another that is a bit older (not sure yet- waiting for response from teh previous owner) they were recently put together and went through most of the rituals that were explained in the thread. Fighting, submission, seizure like movements from one, and now sleeping and hanging out together in the same branching hammer coral. However- both fish were without another clown so I am wondering if they might have already turned female. I think i did see them do the mouth lock thing once...i think- it was described as an action that 2 females might do to one another. I have not seen it since.
