I Just got a new set of clowns, after my other ones , got ick and..... but i got them in the tanlk yesterday and the still havent eaten anything , should i be worried?? Any suggestions on how to get them to eat ? I bought them from frishboy43 (matt)

Feed them frozen bar of cyclopeeze, that should do the trick. When I bought mine from Matt, they wouldn't eat anything either until I bought cyclopeeze, it works like a charm. Now, they eat anything...... :)

I'm pretty sure Matt makes sure they are eating some flake before he sells them. They also love frozen Cyclop-eeze. Make sure your tank isn't too bright for them and that there aren't a lot of sudden movements of people around the tank. You can shade off a section with some paper for a few days to give them a quiet place to hang out. Also, don't go overboard on the food. Feed them on a schedule and don't feed too much. Give 'em a few days and I'll bet they start eating.

If your other fish died on Sep. 17th the night you posted they were sick and got the new clowns in Sunday night the 8th that is only 3 weeks fallow at the most.... The tank may very likely still be harboring Ick. It definetly is if there was any fish left in the tank. I hope you have a sponge filter or some other form of bio going to pull for a hospital tank treatment if the worse happens :). I know Matt feeds cyclopezz powder so I would try that since you are in a dorm and freezer space is tiny if you have a fridge!

I took everything out and treated it for ick fish in one tank, inverts in another ect needless to day that there was alot of tupperware in my small dorm room.

Glad to hear you got them home ok. I agree, give them a few days (they should eat almost anything they can fit in their mouths), but if you'd like to try some foods to get them to eat, here's a partial list of things that your pair have eaten before (Like crumbletop says I try to give them a variety of things for health and so they eat whatever they are offered when they move to other tanks):

small PE mysis
cyclop-eeze (like Angela says, I use the powder)
frozen enriched brine
frozen formula foods (ocean nutrition and homemade)
new-life spectrum
vibragro
marinegro
otohime

I'm not a big fan of flake foods (and neither are the fish!), but they should eat most any "crumble" diet. Hope this helps!

Matt
