Club Idea

I was thinking of a new club idea. I was just at Acecool's house the other night and he has a great tank with great show corals. It is difficult to see everyone's tanks and the club has the best tanks in Tennessee.
How about a MTRC tank of the month? We have others in the club who take pictures. We could shoot pictures and give the rundown on all filtration etc. rocks. Sandbed..specific corals...anyone like this idea..?

I could definitely help this get going..I have a decent camera...photoshop ability..I would want someone with more experience to help with describing the setup and writeup..then everyone who could volunteer to have their tanks shown. I love seeing everyones setup..should we put this on the new website or here at reefcentral?

I think a tank tour day would even be fun. Have half the tanks on Saturday and half on Sunday that way everyone would have a chance to see some tanks. Make your tank available for viewing 2-3 hours on the day you chose and for those with smaller rooms you wouldn't have everyone in the club there at once.

Not sure if I could do the voting part on the website...would take some research on the code to make a poll type form, but the photos and write up could definitely be done on the website.

I could very easily put a small blurb on the home page with a link to a dedicated page about the winner and his/her setup.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea. yall are welcome to photo mine as I an not the best at picturing it with my meager cameras. I did take some for the site and will try to post here sometime soon.

Not a lot, but I could probably figure it out with some time. Problem is, FINDING the time.

I am thinking ..a feature tank for MTRC every other month...if you want your tank featured then you can let me know...also be willing to provide a tank summary...intro, the beginning, filtration & circulation, tank parameter, corals,lighting etc.. basically stuff we all like to talk about... You have to let someone come over and take photos of your tank and then we can post from there.

basically look at the reefcentral tank of the month and that is what we should emulate i think... ok..so who's in?
