After my 1st post, It sounds like there is some interest in developing a casual frag trading network to help insure our colonies in the case of a crash and expand the number of species in our tanks. However it seemed that a lot of the interest came from individuals with little to trade which does defeat the purpose somewhat (nothing against you). Anyway I would still like to give it a shot and start off with one or 2 groups of 3-4, 2 participants with more SPS and 1 or 2 with less SPS. Novice SPS'ers might get to pick 5 more common frags from each tanks, while advanced might get to pick from the full assortment. All Tanks should be SPS Friendly - Lights, Flow, Correct H2O parameters. Tanks should be disease free, but all participants should plan on treating corals prior to putting them in their tanks.
I am suggesting that we get a test group together and see how well it works and then report back via a thread on the subject. This is for SPS primarily. Once a group is picked the individuals could visit each of the tanks that have a large # of frags to do their fragging during one day.
If you are interested. Post the # of colonies that are ready to frag (small or big frags ok) from each class of corals, your location and years of experience with SPS. like so
SPS - 25 coloines - common to rare
LPS - 2 colonies
softies - 2 colonies
