Co2 reduction and ph

For what it's worth. I saw no difference in my skimmers performance by running it outside. I did see a reduction in the noise, but then again I me losing my hearing.

Mine is running outside through a 1-inch line. I had a sro5000 and a bm250 both running at one point on the same feed line, no issues with drag. Pipe run is probably 25-30 ft.I tried soda lime, it seem like I would go through 1/2 gallon every couple weeks. Got expensive. My tank is in the basement, so I don't know if that plays a part in it, but pH range much much more steady since I ran it outside. And i noticed a rise of .1 or .2, I don't know exactly how much anymore, because I've been running it like that for four or five years

How to you have your line set up outside to protect it from insects or contamination?

The pipe runs along the basement joists and exits the house under our deck. I went with a 1"x1 1/2" elbow (facing down) on that fitting. I put a piece of an AquaClear filter sponge in the opening. I pull it out every couple of years or so and rinse it out. I went with the 1 1/2" so I could hang a cartridge of GAC to filter the incoming air.
One day I might get around to doing that..
