Any recommendations? I'm using maple plywood and want to protect the inside from spray, heat, UV, etc.

Coating the inside of a canopy

I asked at HD and they directed me to a Behr Enamel and Primer all in one paint. I slapped 3 coats on the inside of my canopy. I've seen others use similar Glidden paints too. I'll see if I can dig up the link.

I went even bigger than that, painted it with whatever paint I felt like, and then coated the whole thing with a clear 2-part epoxy, the kind of stuff they use on wooden Bars. 5 years later, I'm glad I did. Thing still looks new on the inside despite being hot and salty all the time

I've put west system in a canopy before and it flaked apart. I think it needs a top coat to shield from UV.

I just used 4 coats of kiltz white primer from walmart..

I used the appliance spray paint and it's held up for 5+ years on my frag tank. I also used Helmsman spar urethane in my display canopy and that has held up for 4 years on the previous canopy and 4+ on the current one. Both are available at Lowes/HD.

Yes, you're correct. The West System is great as a moisture barrier, but an additional top coat is required for long term UV protection. For my situation, latex paint will probably get the job done. I'll need to think about putting a coat or two in my canopy. I must have missed that!

Joe doesn't paint, he uses a white type of manufactured board of some type.

Haffs, I read through your build thread, totally impressive. I've never used a 2-part linear polyurethane, but apparently they're the best.
The canopy I made with West took about a year to start seeing breakdown, not that long, so you'll want to do something. I wish there was something cheaper than expensive epoxy with an expensive polyurethane on top. Maybe gold plating? Maybe I should do a hanging pendant...

I installed some paneling on the walls at my bro-in-laws crappy pizza factory. I think it was MRP...it's a very thin vinyl or fiberglass but it is waterproof and the big box stores sell it. When I used it I thought it would make a good liner for canopies and stands but I haven't researched. Just need to seal the joints.

I've got my stand lined with it as I figured that would get more direct water contact where more protection from the FRP would be needed as opposed to splash/spray up in the hood.
