ok so i got this piece of lr from the lfs with a piece of codium attached to it. when i got it home it had almost broken off. i hear that if it detatches it will never reatatch itself to a rock is that true. if so will it survive if i attatch it via some other method

I attached mine to a pice of rubble. It wasn't attached when i got it, and over the past 6 months, it has more than quadrupled in size. I usually pick a thin area of the plant and wrap it around a piece of rubble to hold it in place. Just give it good current and light and it will grow rapidly.
