hi im from england and was wondering if you can go and collect your own ricordeas if you live in an area that has them and you go diving as i think that would be real cool to go collect your own cheers adrian

The law allows anyone with a valid saltwater license (even visitors who buy temporary licenses) to collect up to 20 ricordia while they are in FL. That is the daily bag limit on animals for recreational purposes. You could mix them up and also take fish, as long as the number of animals is 20 or less, and you follow the size limits. I don't know what you need to bring them back with you to england, but while here follow the laws and have fun.

thanks for reply i would never collect to bring back here was just wondering if you could do that as another part of hobby

Mercuryrocket, most collectors, me included, don't give out spots, too many people return and then the spots are no good, I sent you a pm, but unless you are diving with me I can't give out any locations. The best places to find them are in the keyes, but again you'll have to be really lucky or have someone show you where they are. I have taken divers in the past, returned only to find the spots ruined for me. There is always the chance that it was random, that someone else just stumbled across my spot, but who ever went there after me took them all and now there is only silt and algae.
