Colonial Polyps looking dull in color

I just bought some polyps from LFS, they are grown on a small live rock with some coraline algae on it. It was very sharp in color the green and red in LFS but today I woke up found it not as sharp and it seems to be depleting? The flaps on the outer ring of each polyps seems to be curly as suppose to flat.

coralife 24" T5-HO 10,000K Daylight and Actinic Bluelight
9hrs timer
brown algae on live rocks and sand
425GPH powerhead
75F temp

Livestock before coral added: 1 small damsel, 1 scavenging nassarius snail, 1 turbo snail

Livestock added with coral together: 1 SM argent Mono, 2 blueleg hermit crabs, 1 extra scavenging nassarius snail, 1 astrea snail

They don't really need to be that close to the light honestly. They're probably just adjusting to your tank and could be under shock from the high amount of light. Even though you're only using 2 bulbs that rock is like less than 6" from the bulb. Like anything else, they need time to adjust.
 
agreed... not sure i would have them that close to the light either... try moving them down if you would like, and give them a few days to a week and see how they look then... jus a thought
 
Zoanthus generally do well in high light and low light. They will grow faster in high light but yours do look like they are getting too much light. I would put them on the sand bed and then move them up a bit at a time if you'd like them up there.

Ah...those are called Zoanthus! Are they cheap stuff that grow relatively fast? Cuz it was the cheapest in my LFS $19.99.

Do they need a high flow though? On the sand bed it would receive moderate to low flow in my tank, thanks.
