color change

i have one frag that i recieved a while back that i believe is some tri color acro or something of the sort. well sometime ago i had one branch turn white and i thought it to be stn/rtn so i chopped that branch off and chunked it. well that branch grew back the same brownish/greenish color the whole frag is. well a few weeks back that same branch has since turned white again with the bumps where the polyps extend from it has color, they are like a brown/purple color. well i didnt cut the arm off this time and just let it do what it wants and its doing fine. no other parts of the frag are changing it was just that one branch. poly extension on the whole frag and that branch are great. has anyone ever experienced this with any sps coral?

Many sps's new growth tips will be white. If the arm grew back then the coral is healthy. White is not always dead. Look for tissue or skeleton and polyps. I have 3 sps that have white tips where there is new growth.

I also have many sps that the tips are white when growing. Only frag to save a coral if the bare skeleton is exposed.

It's not a tip.. The whole arm grew back at the regular greenish color and all of a sudden, just like last time, it turned white. But it's not white like a bleach or a dead color, I have seen both unfortunately. It's just this one arm. I think i might frag it and mount it on a plug and see what it does on there. Also to see what the new arm that grows in will do. It's just weird that it's only one arm doing this as all others are normal.

I have a deep water acro that one arm is all white and it is the only arm growing right now. The rest of the coral is green with a slight tint of blue.

I have an acro with one white arm - no idea what kind it is but the polyps it gets are kind of brown

Cool so I'm not the only one. Plus I checked it out today and the Tip has turned a light purple. I'm gonna chop that arm and put it on a frag plu to see what it does
