Color difference in mated Perculas?

These were sold to me as very small true Perculas and were the first wreath in my tank 4 years ago.
Of the four original wreath, two stayed small (1 1/4") while these two paired up and grew. The female is over two inches. They lay eggs regularly as they are doing in the first picture.

My question is about the color of the female. It has clearly changed as all were colored like the male at first.
Is this common?
Anyone seen this before?

Sorry about the small pictures. Just loaded all my stuff on a new computer and nothing works the way it did before.

My ocellaris has done the same thing as it has gotten older. Just think of it as getting a tan from your lighting.

I'm not sure about the coloring, but why do you call them "wreath"?

edit: LOL nevermind, I got it.

haha this cracked me up, good on you guys at RC

You will see color differences in ocellaris clowns but I've noticed that they can change over time. My pair looked just like this but within a year they looked almost the same. Also, their colors seemed to get darker as they aged. I speculate that diet has something to do with it.
