Can anyone give me some info on dyed corals and anemones. Not the dead skelatons, but living ones. Is this a common practice? How can you tell if its dyed or not? I am still learning about corals and anemones and I want to avoid these. I saw a coral at the last frag swap that was NEON green. I dont think that it sold. I thought that someone would have jumped on it for sure. I was wondering if it had been dyed. It might have been a soft coral, I dont remember.
TIA

I dont believe it's that common down here since we have all this access to so many LFS's, if they did that or sold corals like that, we'd just take our business across the street.

I see it all the time in the LFs's locally. if its bright pink, yellow, orange, red it may very well be. I saw some leathers that were nice orange and was able to rub the coral and the coloring came off on my finger. ( cant do that on anemones and some corals of coarse)

Matthew,
It was a fluorescent/neon green colored coral that I saw. It was a color that I have never come across before. I have also seen unsual colored soft corals that didn't look "right". So I was wondering if there are a lot of dyed corals and anemones.
