Color/light?

I was reading that the clams that are browinsh or green require less intense lighting. Like T.derasa,T.gigas and T.squamosa's making them better beginer choices. If this is true then does a gold or teardrop fall under those guidelines as well? Thanks-Paul

Lower light clams(deep water) such as T.gigas, derasa, squamosa are hardy.
T. maximas are much more light demanding. Wild caught clams such as ponape clams and vietnam teardrops require direct MH light. Farmed (ORA/Marshall Island) clams(both ultras and 1st grades) seem to be more tolerant of different lighting.
All these clams do better with feeding IMO...regardless of size.

Gigas might be deep water clams but they do require a lot of light, especially the more they grow.
