My Zoas are not melting away but they are not growing and the color is not as bright as when I bought them. All my other softies and hard coral are doing great growing and great color. Also my brown polyps have lose some color too but they are growing crazy. Please help thanks.

what color were they originally ? what color are they now. Maybe try moving them around in your tank. give them more or less light and more or less flow and see what they like. give them time to adjust to the new place you put them before you decide if its better or worse for them. what kind of lighting do you have? what are your water parameters?

They are orange Bam Bams and now they are pinkish. I have led lighting, water parameters are as follows,
ALK 9.6 dkh
Cal 450
Mag 1100
Nitrates 0
Nitrites 0
Ammonia 0
Phos 0.00
Water temp 76.5 to 78.5

Are you using anything like GFO? Mine were ****ed off when I started using GFO. 3 days after I took it offline they were happy again. How intense are the LED lights? And how close to the zoanthids are they?

Why are you using GFO?
Do you have a phosphate problem?
Most of the time the use of GFO is unnecessary, when you have a good maintenance schedule. Not a crazy, but consistent and normal schedule.
If you want to keep the GFO try to diminish it's quantity to see if that helps.
Good luck!

Yes without it I run about 0.07 and with GFO I run 0.00 on my Hanna checker. I will cut back on the GFO and see what happens Thanks

It would be good to try other things first than to run GFO IMO.
Perhaps you're also using too much for the need.

I would suspect that you were giving them to much light. I keep all my zoas in the lower 1/4 of my tank and they have always done great. The problem with advice from a forum like this is that you will get a lot of conflicting responses. I have never had a problem growing zoas and running GFO.

And they all are right in different situations. Everyone's tank is different and what works for one may be a disaster to another.

Moving the from the top of the tank to the bottom 1/4 of the tank. I worried about stopping the use of GFO. I do my water changes every two weeks of 20% and that hasn't lowered the Phosphates. Only when I use it did the levels drop rapidly.

That's true!
Also I agree with the light. Could be.
But between changing the light or how deep they are, and cutting back on the GFO, I would give priority to the GFO. Just me.
Nobody has to take my suggestions as rules. I appreciate you're giving yours!
If you do both changes at once you will never know which one was the problem.
Yes, everyone does different and that's the way I would do.

How much and what do you feed?
Could you cut a bit of that?

You need to decide what you'll do. I would do only one of the changes. Either remove the GFO or move the zoas from the light. That way you'll actually know what's going on there.
If you've got the light going for a while and you had the GFO added to the system after that, I would say the problem is the GFO.
Good luck!

I agree 100% only do one thing at a time so you know what helped or made the problem worse. Do you have a pic?

I have been running the GFO for over a year and a half now the Zoas were fine till about 2 months ago then just started losing their color. The other ones I have haven't multiplied but haven't lost their color. The new ones have lost their color but have doubled. I moved them to the bottom of the tanks today. The others are about mid way down the tank. Will try whatever it takes to get that color back that was why I got these.
