Color question

Another quick question.....I was at a lfs recently and the owner was showing me some of his zoos. I pointed out a rock with two different colored zoos on it to him. He stated that it was the same zoo, that it was a different color because it was a 'baby' still. I have about 25 different types of zoos and I have never seen mine change from one color to another. Anyone else know anything about this. I'm curious.....

Zoas and palys, can and will change colors based upon a number of factors. Most often, lighting is the reason for the color shift.

Also, smaller/baby polyps are often shaded from light above by larger more mature polyps. This could also be a reason for less intensity in color.

Oh no.....I guess I left this one to your imagination accidently....

Let me explain further. This rock was covered in red and blue zoos with green edges.....in the middle were a few purple ones....they looked NOTHING like the others yet he insisted they were the same.....

I do understand what your saying though and agree.....
