are the known for much color changing

This is the kind I will be getting ,
but my friend had one , and it stayed this color most of the time

as seen on , octopets.com , the picture on the front page

but his would turn different shades of the same color

can they turn bright red , or fancier colors ?

ask at tonmo.com, they are specialists. My O.Vulgaris hated my dad's bird dogs and would turn bright red when they barked at him through the glass - major hulking threat displays and rushing at tank wall! Dogs (and I) loved it, egged him on. He never blanched or inked, so I think he was sort of play acting, anyway...

O. Vulgaris

Yes, they get huge. I caught him while snorkeling off Cape Florida, Key Biscayne in Miami when I was 15. Put him in a 75 gallon tank my brothers and I shared for capture specimens. Kept him for a little over a year til he got too big. Put him in large cooler with splash water & lock lid in back of my big bro's truck and we all were crying on the drive back to the cape where I let him go. He hung around for a few minutes holding my facemask, then took off in a flash. Memorable pet!

Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Don't remember who I'm quoting, but it's true. Octos don't live long, but they really make the most of their time here. My understanding of bimacs is that they are quite pleased to make a lifelong study of their human slave :D. My O.Vulgaris seemed to enjoy himself. At release site, though, I seriously doubt he was hanging with me for any other reason than to adjust to the shock of being out in the open again after so long; surely no sentiment involved, except on the part of a weepy 16 year old girl!
