Colorado Springs this Weekend

The Broadmoor is a private course only used by their club members and hotel guests...you can't just walk on and play 18 at the Broadmoor, and the annual membership dues are throught the roof...but what do expect of one of the richest areas in the state???

$100 for 18 holes!!?? Thats an average of a dollar a shot for me as bad as I play.

Shoot, I am glad I am finally, consistantly breaking 100!

The BroadMoore usually runs a special in the fall. Its like $130 for a room and your greens fees/cart (not a course I would want to walk!)

It is definitely a steep course, but you would have a caddy to carry your clubs. :)

We SCMAS members should play a round sometime! Maybe I could get some golfing tips from you guys.

From what I hear, Robert, is our resident Pro!

Seeing as I work at a private golf course I could prob get us some deep discounts for play (if it was a 4sum I could comp us) but more then that I would have to talk to the GM :p

My wife and I had a great time playing Castle Pines North yesterday morning. They paired us with another couple and would be that they were also from the Dallas area. I shot an 85 from the gold tees, not bad for me. My wife did not play as well so I will not post her score.

By the way they were getting ready for the International on Castle Pines (the private course) yesterday when we drove by there.

The green fees for Castle Pines North are $100 weekdays, and $125 on weekends and Fridays. You can play the Broadmoor if you are staying there as a guest.

Today we plan on seeing some lfs and visiting more family and attending a family cookout. We are heading back home in the morning (Sunday), got to get back to work so that I can pay for my hobby. We had a great time on this trip and by the way Joe says hello.

Annual membership fee is $60,000, plus monthly fees of $450. Guest fees are $180 for peak times. OUCH! I'll take Ft Carson (GPS on the carts), the Academy or Antler Creek. They're all challenging and in great condition. I work with some heavy duty golf fanatics, including a member of Castle Pines and a member of the Broadmoor, but $45 with a cart for 18 sounds a lot more sane to a weekend golfer like me. At my best I was only an 8 handicap, but since my back and neck injury have cut my left side strength by half, I push my long clubs to the right now anyway (too bad there isn't an all dogleg right course around here).

Murf, breaking 100? Above or below? :D

Joe and I went around to several stores this past Sat. Joe really had a great time just getting out of the house he even bought some fish and other stuff.

We are now back in Dallas and reality, 104 when we got home yesterday afternoon and all the tanks are doing great after us being gone foe 4 days. Get ready to do a water change this morning on the 200 gal tank.

I would like to thank all of you for your help during this trip and you all should check in on Joe every now and then.
