Colorful Schooling Fish

I have 1 male and 2 female red sea 8 line flasher wrasses and they school but at 85$ each it gets kinda expensive. ( I got mine on sale )

Actually, it is shoaling behavior rather than schooling behavior. Schooling in normal size tanks is unlikely. Shoaling in 100+ gallon tanks will work with Anthias, some flasher wrasses, chromis. I did not know about cardinal fish.

hum... and the anthias, which is the smaller specie and what's the smaller tank u can have?

WOULD LOVE TO GET A FEW FISH THAT SCHOOL. ANY IDEAS BESIDES CHROMIS?
I don't think cardinals swim around much - mine don't & the 4 I have hang out in pairs (threadfins)

If your tank is 50g, that's too small for a group of anthias

I'd recommend a pair of something like a couple of chromis - buy juveniles so they can work out sexing issues successfully

Sorry but schooling is hard to come by with marine fish :( I feel your pain though

Chubb try to add like 5 chromis maybe u have luck and they will school! good luck!
You're up early!! :D

Chubb if you go with chromis, they should be quarantined & even perhaps treated hospital style to ensure they are free of parasites. That is at least if they come from a LFS that packs a bunch in one tank. If you can start out with disease free ones, you will increase your chances. Chromis tanks are notoriously full of diseased fish.
