Coloring up?

Hi Everyone!

I changed my lighting from a T5 fixture with 4 bulbs and only one reflector to an Aquatinics 5x5 T5 fixture where all bulbs have individual reflectors. Some of my corals had lost some color, zoas especially, but are recovering nicely. I do have a birdsnest that I got at our frag swap that wasn't really colored when I got it which I blamed on my bad lighting and figured it would color up when I got better light but it hasn't. It has good polyp extension but just no real color... Think it will ever color up or am I destined to have a tan birdsnest coral?

Depends on the Birds nest... Some are just flatout tan... lol Others have nice color to them... If it was once a nicely colored BN, then it is likely that it will return to its former beauty given adequate lighting and proper conditions... :)

Oh, and nice fixture you picked up there...

Hmmmm... well crap, the polyps weren't extended when I got it and I was told it was green but it has never been green and I'm not seeing any green coming out. Boo! I wonder if I've got a stupid tan birdsnest.

Thanks! I love my new light. The tank looks soooooo good with it. Makes me want to host a monthly meeting so everyone can see it!
