Ill throw in my feedback, I bought very nice milleporas from LA divers den twice in the last few months. Both were packed above and beyond what most I would consider "adequate". I'm talking giant boxes with tons of peanuts for a tiny coral. Both times, my milleporas were fully opened in 10 minutes, with no color issues.
I would definately call them, have them document your order with what happened, and wait out their 14 day arrive alive guarantee. This way if on day 14 or 15 you are not satisfied, you can ask them to review your notes and they will see you filed an issue the moment you got it, and can use that as leverage.
Now that I think of it, one of my millieporas came with a .5" branch tip that broke off. I filed a complaint, said I dont know if the health of the colony is affected, and I told them I wanted them to document this in case the colony goes south. They took my notes and said to call back in 2 weeks. I waited it out, the colony was fine, and the .5" tip I made into a frag that was (and still is) healthy. I called back on day 14 and told them all is well, and said I still was a little upset that a tip broke off because it was on the front of the colony and they gave me a partial credit as an apology, and told me they hope to do business with me again in the future. A++ service in my books. I told them the coral was doing fine and healthy and they still offered me the credit. Which I used a few weeks later on a different millepora that came perfect.
What are your tanks Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, and Phosphate levels? Keeping these stable and correct is crucial for SPS keeping. Maybe you have a paramater off that we can help fix which will aid in the corals recovery?
