Colt Coral ? *pic*

introduced colt coral to my tank today. it spent about 2 days in shipping and was acclimated for about 2 hours and then placed into a hole on LR where it has remained ever since. However it is not erect at all (sorry if there are any immature ppl out there) kinda looks like a blob.

is this normal?

Doesn't look right to me. My colt will curl up but the stalks stay erect and it's never like that more than an hour or so. Plus, your colt looks pretty white, which is never a good sign.

yeah even my colt coral right after i cut it in half didnt look that bad. I would leave your lights on for a while and see if it will get errect. If not hopefully you get a refund from where you bought it

I wouldn't worry about lighting as much as I would amount of flow.
Sadly that coral looks just aweful!
I would recommend placing it in an area of high flow. I could be wrong but it looks as though there is dead flesh coming off. It would probably be best to remove as much dead flesh as possible.

He is starting to look a little better. When i removed him from the bag he was real slimy and alot of slime stayed in the bag. Figured it was shipping stress.

Also got from frogspawn in the same shipment and only about 1/4th of the bulbs are green, figured they should color back up?

Tip of the day: Don't expect high quality ordering coral online where you can't cherry pick it.

Even if he had cherry picked that colt coral from extrememecorals he could've still had this problem. Just because it looks good in the pic doesn't mean it will arive in good condition.

I had a small colt frag that got lost under some mushrooms, when I got it out it look similar that. It took it about a week or so but it looks fine now. So, I think it'll be fine provided all your tank paramenters are good. If it does begin to decay then I also suggest removing the decayed parts. After this even a tiny amount of healthy material has the potential to grow into a full new coral.
