Our dear leader (Paul Whitby) is in the Sunday Oklahoman posing with his tank. The piece is titled "In the Swim", and does a good job promoting the many aspects and goals of COMAS. It talks of the humble beginings of COMAS with only a dozen members growing to over 150. The January Meeting was mentioned too. Great job to all involved in this venture!

Hey Paul, Napoleon couldn't have worked a more stoic pose...... "pondering the possibilities". :D

Paul did a wonderful job of presenting COMAS to the public in that interview. He has worked very hard to get the club where it is and deserves kudos for all his time and his energy he put into the club! THANK YOU PAUL!

Our meeting next Sat. should be very crowded. Please everyone talk to each other and strangers at the meeting so they get the idea that although we are big we are a friendly group of fish geeks.

I thought the article came out pretty well. The reporter/photographer were here for well over an hour and I really tried to stress what COMAS is all about.

I have to really say a big thanks to Sheryl (Serra) for pushing the local media so hard to get us some exposure. She did a great job.

Paul.

very nice!

Thank you Sheryl for getting our publicity organized and Paul, for opening up your home for the interviews.

The comas site is looking better all the time. I see a possible future where the forum will be local much like dfwmas. It was great to see the club get some good exposure. Great job PW. I think they might have misquoted you on the free membership drive though.

yes they did.....and its been pointed out on our website.

Wait till the new donor forum goes live next week.....

There has been an enormous amount of work going into that....as many know I have been PM-ing to get it all updated and ready.

Also note....all donor threads on RC will be closed down TONIGHT Sunday 14th.....so add any updates now before we finalize the migration.

Paul.

Very good article Paul. Hopefully there will be many more people signing up at the meeting.

Excellent Paul! Article and Photo's look awesome. Just what we needed! Hope you got that bad boy cut out and stuck up on the fridge :D

What no body mentioned.....cos no one knew....I didnt get told about this till around 5.00 on tuesday night. Sheryl called me to say what was happening, then the reporter called. They wanted to come around 2.00pm the next day .

So.......................that meant a major clean up of the acrylic as well as the room. I had begun working on the woodwork again, so had to reassemble parts and get it all done. It was a reasonably large task, but the pictures were worthwhile and the article was great (i thought).

We wanted to do this to increase COMAS exposure and let people know about the upcoming meeting, not necessarily show my tank off, tho I am proud of the pictures.
Please help us take this one step further by encouraging people to come to our meetings.

Paul.

Actually we started with four members. The founding meeting was at Kyle McClain's house, our first President. It was Kyle, Becky, Don and myself. We all met here on Reef Central and decided we needed a reef club for central Oklahoma. Now if I could only finish school, get a job that doesn't involve weekend nights and make some meetings again. ;)
