I recently grad. from college and ill be starting my job soon and ill have a few extra bucks to throw around on my tank so I'm thinking about setting up a system that is monitored by my computer can anyone tell me where i can find information this im new to it and i think it would help make my tank alot better. I did find a program on Download.com that is called reefCON 2000 or something like that it is supposed to do all that id like it to but im not sure if there is better or where to get the equipment i need. thanks any suggestions would be great.

Neptune Systems....Aqua Controllers. with aqua notes. Not sure how the program works from Download, but you I would think you would have to have something to plug montoring devices into.

ya i figured there would be to need to be a data logger of some sort... which im sure neptune systems probably makes. also is there anyone that actually uses a system like this

Do people use Neptune System controllers?
Tons, they have a forum under the sponsors. One of the best things I bought for my tank.

i think using reefcon if you setup a x10 device with your computer you can avoid using a neptune controller or anything else. There will be more work involved but i would think it would be alot less then a complete neptune system.
I think you will need a x10 controler and whatever to hook it to your computer. then you will need probes and stuff. You can have all the data logging done with reefcon i think. I might look into this too, i want a controller but dont want to spend the money for a neptune :eek2:

I know that there are a ton of people using a neptune controller... but im wondering if anyone is actually using a computer automated system of some sort...
