Compact Kit 16

I currently have a 55 gallon AGA with corner overflow. I have 55 lbs of live sand & 110 lbs of live rock. I am running an Amiracle wet dry with an urchin skimmer. I am interested in obtaining a Tunze compact kit 16 aquarium cabinet kit. The Tunze system filtration intrigues me. Would it be difficult to install this on my tank? Would I need additional flow besides the kit? Where can I purchase the kit & how much would it cost?

I have this kit in stock. The MSRP is $862.78. The only additional items you would need is PVC, the older units were all metric but the current return pump can use 3/4" NPT. You would also need some additional flow as this kit would ideally have only about 250gph going through it though the pump can do more this might make a micro bubble problem. The pump has a mechanical flow restrictor. It is not really any more difficult to install than any other sump set. It is complete including even the Osmolator and reservoir. I don't sell direct but any of our dealers could get it to you and the only other thing you should be aware of is they are expensive to ship. The sump is glass and it ships in an oversize box that weighs about 60 lbs, I expect shipping would run about $50 by UPS ground.

So I could plumb it using PVC from the overflow to the sump and then back through the pump up to the overflow. Thank you for the information.

Given the size and weight of the sump in this kit could I run the same Tunze equipment out of an existing sump? If so, what pieces of equipment would I need to obtain?

The problem is the equipment needs a high water level, 10" or so. The sump we use is like a 20gal turned on it's end. I priced it out one time and it was basically like you get the return pump and sump free. Inside is a 3130/2 skimmer ($330), a Filter Kit 9 ($200), a Biohydroreactor 3167 and bioconnector ($70) Osmolator ($160), 27L reservoir, ($15) Sump ($140), 1074.03 pump ($110). I used to put together sumps for people when I had my shop and It pretty much adds up the same if you piece meal it together and never looks quite as good.
