Companion for Mantis - Part 2

Well, I posted a while back asking about using a Chocolete Chip star or Pencil Urchan as a companion for my Mantis. Recently, I saw Petco (the only place in twon with saltwater critters) had some of those large, red Hermit Crabs. Hum, I wonder if one of those crabs would survive?

Any ideas or experience with them?

they would make better food than friends.... i have haerd that some mantises get along with certain wrasses though.

My Mantis consumed all of my cleaner crew with the exception of my cucumber and sand starfish. I had snails and hermit crabs, various sizes. All gone.

It depends on the type of mantis you have. My peacock prefers hermits and other crabs over snails, but will eat them all if it is hungry. Even very large hermits become dinner eventually.
