can i keep a cleaner wrasse with a fairy wrasse.
(Cirrhilabrus filamentosus) whip fin fairy wrasse is what i have. need a cleaner and the neon gobies dont last. cant do shrimp due to other inhabitants

What happens to Neon Gobies?

Wild ones tend to have a short life.....usually about a year...tank raised ones live a bit longer....

Really I have had mine for at minimum 4 years..guess it must be a tank raised one..

Still going strong too..

I have one(Neon) who is very tight with my Bicolor Blenny! Had about a year and still going strong. I had a Fairy Wrasse in with a Sixline and just as they were starting to get along (Sixline was in first) the Fairy bailed and I found her on the floor.

As long as they are introduced to the tank at the same time, it shouldn't be an issue. I have a bluehead and a Clown wrasse together. They get along fine.

i guess that out then. i already have the fairy. any ideas on why neon gobies only seem to last 3 months and die?

They just have a short life span. Normally not more then 2 years. 3 Months is if they were already mature. They only do a couple of breedings, then they die off.
