Compatibility of Wrasse and cucumber, star, nudibranch

Hello

I am soliciting advice on the following

Sandsifting Cucumber
Serpent Star
Lettuce Nudibranch

I would like to get my substrate cleaner as I still get the small amount of cyano on the surface every now and them. I have done lots of reading and have trimmed my options down to those above. My concerns are

the cucumber will become toxic if it dies?

I have read that the nudibranch can starve itself?

will my leopard wrasse kill these species that arenââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t protected by a shell?

Can i get a combination of these guys?

Would you recommend specific species of these or others?

Most cucumbers release a toxin when they die or become stressed. Sand sifting starfish typically starve in most aquariums (and definitely would in yours) and will deplete a sand-bed of desirable fauna in the process. Lettuce nudibranches (which aren't really nudis) tend to get sucked into powerheads, filter intakes, etc. if they don't starve to death first. These slugs suck out the chloroplasts from certain types of algae and use them for their own photosynthesis. None of the above eat cyanobacteria. As far as I know there is no evidence to support anything eating cyanobacteria (or red slime algae) despite claims to the contrary.

Cyano is typically a sign of too little flow and/or too much nutrient in the water. If cyano regularly pops up in the same area I'd try increasing the flow in that area. If you want creatures to stir up the sand bed try nassarius snails. If cyano is a regular problem decrease feeding, check/replace your filter media and increase the amount/frequency of your water changes.
