Compatibility questions.

I recently got a spotted hawkish and found out it's more aggressive than the guy at the LFS and the website I use as research said. I have an 80 gallon hex tank and wanted to add some cardinals. Will they be safe? Also are there any goby fish that can handle an/fend off the aggressive fish? Thank you.
