Computer Fans

You can control the speed of AC Fans. Buy a dimmer switch. Thats what I did on my last tank.

You should still be able to regulate the voltage, with a rheostat or even a 120V dimmer - the 120V dimmer can take up to 120V, so 12V would be cake :D

Thanks for the advice aprosody! I am by no means an electrician. I know a ton about building computers and picking components, but not much about electrical wiring.
 
The only reason I knew that answer was because I just asked the engineers at my work the same question last week.
