concerns about BTA

Moved On
I received my order yesterday morning and the first thing that i noticed was no heating pack was used. The water in the bag was pretty chilly, temps in my area the previous night were in the low 40's.
I acclimated the bubble tip anemone, placed him on a rock and he did fluff up and looked better than he in the cold bag. it was supposed to be a brown bubble tip, to my surprise (happy) it was white with pink tips with a maroon base. I started to wonder if this was indeed a bubble tip, it looked more like a condy.
I posted a few pics of it to see if anyone could ID it as being a bubble tip, a few said yes and a few said no. One thing most had to say was that this anemone was bleached.
Here are a few pictures, the first pic was taken right after it acclimated, the rest are pictures from this morning. It moved off the top of the rock over night to the side of the rocks.
So i have two questions, one is this indeed a bubble tip? and two is it bleached?

Beemo,

The anemone you have pictured is a Bubble Tip Anemone and not a Condy Anemone. This anemone is a little discolored, most likely due to the stress of shipment, though it seems to be very healthy. Please continue to keep us posted as to the progress of the acclimation.

Glad to hear it is a bubble tip.
What color is it supposed to be? I assume not white?
How can it be healthy and bleached at the same time? That just doesnt sound like a good sign

Beemo,

Bubble Tip Anemones usually tend to exhibit a tan-brown to a florescent green coloration. If you are adding a new anemone to a well-established aquarium with an existing reef, we suggest placing the new arrivals at the bottom, or bottom corner of your aquarium.

You may slowly move the anemone to its preferred location until the anemone displays full coloration and appears to be fully expanded. This will enable the anemone to get used to the new lighting conditions, as well as help regain its original coloration.

Thank you
I will follow your directions.
Please keep in mind that this anemone came to me in a bleached condition, I imagine from the bagged water being cold due to the lack of a heating pack.
It was bleached/white allready in the bag, this did not happen over night in my tank. Either a bleached specimen was shipped or it occured during the first 24 hours of shipment.
Either way i dont think this is a satisfactory specimen.
In the same order i was also credited for a melted marbled seastar. Apparently it didnt take to the cold too well either and fell appart in the bag. I emailed a picture of the seastar still in the bag in pieces.

Beemo,

Thank you for your post. We ask that you please PM us with your order information so that we can note your file with the condition of your anemone. The anemone should be able to get better coloration as it becomes more used to the conditions in your aquarium. We suggest keeping this in the bottom of your aquarium and then slowly moving him towards the top to ease his acclimation into your system.

The bleaching may have occurred during transit, as we do not ship specimens that are not 100% healthy. We take pride in the quality of the specimens we ship to our customers. If this specimen has not improved by the end of the warranty period, please let us know.
