Conches

Are conches the best for helping to strir the sandbed up, im lookin for the best inverts to help to stir it up.

The 2 i have are always going in the sand and hiding . So i would say they mix the sand really good.

Make sure you get a REAL conch, a strombid conch, not a "Crown Conch" or "King Conch." Those aren't really conchs, and won't stir your sandbed, but will eat other animals in your tank.

I just picked up a fighting conch! He's only like 1" long, just a little guy! But man does he go to town on algae over the substrate! Simply awesome!

i have a tiger conche does a pretty good job....but if your wanting to stir it up i have a what the LFS called a zombie snail...just hides in the sandbed i only see his breathing tube every so often...

My conchs and nassarius snails do a fine job of stirring the sandbed.
