I hope I have this in the right forum. My condy anemone has receintly been going downhill and this is what I found infesting its detached base.

the culprit

What the heck is this? I removed at least 50 of these. Are they similar to zoa eating spiders. The Tropic Marin dip @ 3x normal dosage caused them to detach in less than 5 minutes but not kill them.

Whoooops... I posted under my buddies SN by accidet. He wont mind, now hes got twice as many posts.:D

They don't look like something you would want. Is your Condy still alive and did you get all those pests of it?

The Condy is still alive and is only 50% rectracted compared to fully 24hrs ago. I would say its very unlikely that I will be able to physically remove all the little buggers as there in the rock around the anemone as well. I plan on dipping the anemone as long as it isnt attached and picking off what I find elsewhere, with treezers. I also checked Calfos book on prop and found nothing concerning this in the pests chapter.

well yuma i think you should probably admidt defeat and come to micro with me and your roomy that way you do not fail it what do you think bout that?

ok well on the condy thing I think they are little bugs that are icky plase do not get them on anything of mine in your tank meet us in the lab at 4

Looks like Zoanthid Eating Spiders if they are then if you have any zoanthids in your tank and you notice they start looking sick you might have a big infestation. Sucks that they are attacking your condy like that.

I have numerous zoas and palys in the tank (20L) and havent noticed any signs of stress in them.
The Condy is still alive but wont open fully. Im doing a second dip on Monday.
