I am trying to configure the internet access on my new aciii.
I have a linksys router for my vonage which i have set the port forwarding of port 80 to the ip of the aciii.
I also have a verizon action tech fios router which i looked in and the portwarding of 80 is set as far as i can see.
if i go to canyouseeme.org i can not be seen.
I am pretty novice at this can anyone offer any help

thanks,Liam.

I am trying to understand your setup...

Is it the LinkSys that is currently connected to the DSL/Cable? Is Verizion your provider? How is the 'verizon action tech fios router' attached and what does it connect?

the verizon router is my internet provider but i then pass through the vonage linksys router which is my phone service, before my computer.
So i am guessing i need to port forward 80 on both units to pass through??

Yes, if that is the configuration you would need to program port forwarding on both. I have Verizon and they do not block port 80 (here), not sure if the same is true where you are. You could try a different port (e.g., 9999) but remember to change the port in the AC3 as well as the 2 routers.

i did'nt need to change anything in the verizon router that i could see,as you mentioned it was already allowing port 80.
I am missing something though.

Are you sure; how where you able to determine that the Verizon router was passing port 80 through? When I had a Verizon router (before I replaced it) I had to configure the port pass through but it was too long to remember how I did it. Is te Verizon router just a plain router; no firewall?

i'm not sure of anything,lol.
I could have sworn when i was browsing the router i saw that port 80 http was on.
Now i can't find where i saw it.
Any idea where to look in the verizon router?

Hmm, no I don't remember either. Does the router have more than 1 port on it; would it be possible to plug the AC3 directly into the router and try to connect?

now you mention that.
I plugged the acIII into it directly initially but could not even connect through my pc.I switched it to the vonage router and got right in.
Since my last post i did find the port forwarding in the gaming section of the router and i programmed it to port 80 and added the acIII's IP adress.

Do you meant that when the AC3 is plugged into the Verizon router and the PC is plugged into the Vonage router that you cannot connect to the AC? If that is what you mean, then yes, you might not be able to connect to the AC3 because it is behind the firewall (Vonage router) but the firewall thinks it owns the address range so it will not forward the connection request through the router.

Try connecting to the AC3 using the internet (public) addess; use the canyouseeme.org website and see if that works now. If it does that proves that you are getting through the 1st router.

yes that is how it is set up .
I tried canyouseeme whilst plugged into the verizon router and the answer is no,timed out.

if i plug my pc directly into the verizon router i still cannot access the acIII,so that rules out the vonage router for this part of the problem, correct?

Could you access the AC3 before, when the PC and AC3 where plugged into the Vonage?

I suspect that there is something else going on, configuration related. It sounds like something between the Verizon router and the Vonage router.

Yes. Forward port 80 on the verizon router to the vonage router WAN ip address. Then forward port 80 of the vonage router to the AquaController's IP address.
