Configuring MP40s

Hi,

I have just purchased 2x MP40s for my 120g tank. Approximate dimensions are 1.2m long, 70 wide, 55 deep but I'm not very happy with the flow, I seem to have a number of dead spots despite fairly open rock work.

A few questions...

1] Am "I doing something wrong" if I can't get good flow all over the tank with these two pumps? They are currently running in reef crest mode at about 40 or 50% power

2] I put them about 3/4 up the tank facing directly/exactly across from each other. Would it be better to have them off-center?

3] The pumps are setup as Master/Slave. I tend to run "ReefCrest" mode, which I think shows a yellow dial on the master. The slave is set so that its showing orange - because its on the opposite wall. Is that correct? And does that mean the slave pump is in SYNC or ANTI-SYNC?

Thanks for any help, I think I'm not getting the best from these things just yet, would like to get there!

Droog,

To start, I would recommend offsetting the VorTechs. Additionally, we recommend having one positioned lower in the aquarium while the other VorTech is higher on the glass. To answer your other question, orange on the dial would indicate anti-sync mode, and this will help you create a very dynamic flow pattern. For more information, I would recommend taking a look at our full VorTech manual found here: http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/FULLMANUAL_Revision1.2.pdf
