Just looking for info on how I can confirm that these are true percs.

thanks

I will freely admit that I am awful at telling them apart from Ocellaris, but the eye is making me think that they are Ocellaris. (( there is a good chance that I am wrong. ))

Hmmm... I would have guessed percs because the lines around the white on the bottom fish are a bit "smudged". Plus the orange has that sort of "dirty" look that percs seem to have since they turn black over time.

I'll have to agree with Todd in saying that there is a good chance that I am wrong.

I noticed those things too, which is throwing me off.

Great, if we are both wrong, these are a new species ;)

Orange ring around eyes, makes me lean towards true perc.... but nowadays, even counting spines on the dorsal isnt't a 100% accurate. Look healty thought if thats any concilation!

I had a little baby clown who looked JUST like that, and I could never quite figure out if he was occy, perc, or a mix of the two.
I have to say though, these really make me think perc, because of the pale orange, the smudged bars, and the really thick black bordering on the tails/ pec fins (these look tiny, .5-1" long, and IME occys that small have little/no black bordering their fins/stripes)

Hmmm. You guys think there is any chance that they are perc. x ocellaris hybrids? I know they aren't common but they are known to occur.

it's possible I have a pair of percularis hybrids and they looked like that when they were about an inch long...well to tell the truth they still look like that with just a little more black
