Cons of 'Reef Safe' Wrasses?

Thanks for your time.

I've been considering a fairy wrasse - which I'm not sure yet.

I like their color
I like that they are generally peacefull
I like the fact that they are comfortable in smaller tank sizes

But what are the disadvantages of reef safe wrasses?

I've heard they are jumpers?
Are they safe with shrimp(fire, pep, sexy), snails and hermits?

How mush different are their disadvantages from a flame hawk fish?

steve, (slumaye here) one of our WRS presidents had that exact same situation happen in his 180g, even with a fuge and everything.
