Considering a new fish soon

Im trying to get some ideas of some new fish to get. I had an ich outbreak and my clowns are ready to be reintroduced to their reef. I have a Perc and Black Occelaris and a scooter blenny. They are housed in a 29 Biocube.

So Ive been looking or thinking of different fish to add....but can really make a decision. I considered a goby/shrimp pair, but I already have a cleaner and peppermint, and my cleaner already doesnt take kindly to the pepper lol. So decided against that. And also I am worried a goby and my scooter may have to battle out for food

Not really interested in an chromis. NO DAMSEL!!lol

I was considering a wrasse. I did have a exquisite and he did quite well in there, but I do have things a wrasse may consider yummy such as my shrimp and porcelain crab.

So the last to Ive considered are Firefish or a Cardinal. I was thinking of doing a purple Firefish

Any input on these fish or any others I havent thought of please help me make my last fish decision lol

:deadhorse:I just like this lol

if you can splurge a little, why not a helfrichi firefish? I think they are the most beautiful firefish by far :) just make sure you have a lid on that tank! they have a tendency to jump!

Lol....yes it is the best firefish Ive seen. I just still having issues with spending $100 for a fish lol. Cant justify it yet lol

+1 I love those little buggers , one of my favorite fish. They're great. I have 4 in my 300 ;)

Damn thats over $400 of fish for only 4 fish lol.

So can I ask what you like about the firefish so much? I heard they are pretty sensitive. I think they are beautiful fish but since Im limited on space Im trying to make a good choice.

I really loved my exquisite fairy wrasse. Gave alot of movement to my tank and damn would that guy eat up some food

yeah....i have heard the helfrichis are a little difficult. i originally started with 6 but 2 wouldnt eat in qt (but they were a little beat up when they arrived). the four remaining eat like pigs and they're great fish, they all seem to get along just fine and even seem to school some of the time. i dont know what i like about them, maybe it's their crazy color, or odd shape, or maybe just because you dont see them that often. also, they're small so they don't take up a lot of bioload and they're peaceful.

if you didn't want to spring for a helfrichi, i'm a huge fairy/flasher wrasse fan as well so the exquisite isn't a bad choice at all. i have a pair of rhomboids, a flame, girdled, scotts, and a few more on the way.

anyway, a quick helfrichi video.

I love my orange firefish. Very timid.for the first 3 months but now he is out in the front all the time.

Flame hawks are cool too.

Wouldnt a hawkfish be too big for a 29 biocube? Also I dont think he would go well with my scooter blenny

clowns will get nasty eventually. they killed my purple firefish. for whatever reason they leave bangaii's alone. my tailspot was also a good fit. the clowns left him alone, and he ate algae. IMO 29 gallon cubes are tough to keep in check. i'd think hard about a nano sized fish. i've had a small pair of clowns @ a small pair of bangai's together before. it was difficult, even with good skimming and weekly water changes.
