I wanted to get opinions if a 9010 would be fitting for my setup...
I also pm-ed Roger but would like to get others opinions and experience please.

I currently have a mixed 90 semi aggressive reef....

Inhabitants:
falco hawkfish
purple tang
shy hamlet
flame angel
2' snow flake eel

Corals:
lps
sps -- got 2 monti caps fairly sized in the tank
zoanthids,gsp, rics

My current filter setup:
20g long sump
euro reef cs6-2+ w/sedra 5000 pump
small fuge area
phosban reactor using rowaphos

flow
mag5 for return
2x 6025
1x 6045

I do weekly water changes of 18g and my nitrates remain between 10-15ppm. I am pretty much hating life now because like everyone, I am striving to get to 0-5ppm. I am looking at getting a doc 9010 to replace my euro reef and incorporate a much larger refugium in the sump. Just wondering if this would be a better alternative than my current setup and can it help me achieve my goal? I also plan to add a filter sock to consume larger chunk

I don't think the change in skimmer would give you the results you want as I would consider the two skimmers equal or possibly your current one is stronger. You may see some benefit if you were looking for a smaller skimmer for the sake of fitting in the refugium area. I wouldn't get so obsessed about Nitrates. Keep the phosphate low it is the easier nutrient to control. Also keep in mind most Nitrate test kits are testing total nitrogen and not nitrate you may be very surprised at the results if you ran a kit like Lamotte or Machery Nagel, instead of the basic hobby kits. You probably already have 0-2ppm Nitrate.

Thanks for your honest input Roger! And phosphates are a current issue in my tank at the moment....I have a phosban reactor and using rowaphois as we speak....Hoping that within time it will help aid in the fight... I am using salifert btw but I have consideredusing the lamotte kit at least for nitrates... Thanks again!
