I did a few searches but cant find the defining article or posts regarding it. I know people use it for top off, but I am trying to figure out if my system would benefit from it.

Does anyone know of a good step by step explanation of it?

I suppose the best source of info would be RHF's Chemistry Forum.

I understand that kalkwasser is used in addition to Calcium reactors in order to keep the pH up. If your pH, calcium, and alk are okay then you probably don't need kalk.

Okay I have done a ton of reading. Does anyone run a reactor, and somehow have a kalkwasser reactor hooked up to their float valve top off on their sump?

When I had my 120 on my tank I had my Calcium Reactor and I used Kalk in my top off water. Worked very well.
