Constant noise from Tunze 6000 box

Over a period of a week, I have noticed that the box for my 6000 stream is developing salt creep on the part where the driver connects to. Today I opened the box and saw that there was even salt creep inside the box at least on the driver wires. I know this is what is most likely setting the alarm off constantly, but is there a probable cause to this? I know for a fact that this salt creep isn't coming from my tank because the box is in a stand next to the display tank.

Any help is appreciated.

It is rare but if the cord of the pump has a cut in it it can wick salt/ water back into the driver. If the driver is somewhere it could not get wet this is the likely culprit. Probably the cord of the pump has a cut where water is entering and wicking in.

So I guess my only solution is to buy a new pump? I don't know how the cord would develop a cut, but I guess it's possible.

Check it out and see and let me know, even if it is out of warranty I will help you out. A common cause of cut cords is a fish or especially a sea urchin chewing through the cord.
