I've done some searching on the subject and seems there's not alot of known causes but I need help here. Within the last month I've had 5 sps start to stn on me. every time it started in the shaded area.
First was a light blue acro 3" I had for a month. I fragged it and the biggest piece of that died. 4 little stubs I cut off have made it so far. Then a ora red planet frag lost a spot on it's side, it stopped at the edge of the light and is regrowing over it. Then a purple haze encrusting monti I've had a year and has grown very well had a shaded spot peel off. it stopped there, I superglued over the skeleton and now the necrosis is continuing beyond the superglue now. a green pocilapora frag lost a spot above it's base I dipped it in coral rx and superglued over the spot. it's getting worse. A tricolor acro frag that always had pe and was getting brighter everyday stopped pe, I flipped it over and the underside was peeling off. Dipped and superglued that spot and no change yet.
the tank is 2 years old, a 40 breeder with a 55 gallon sump/fuge. Change 5 gallons every week. gfo carbon-2 weeks. Ato and drip 3 cups kalk every night. mp10 and 300 gph return flow. AI sol blue. just one but the sps are all under the center.

coraline and green algae grow and I remove a gallon of chaeto every 2 weeks. I add oysterfeast and aminos. lps and softies are normal maybe alittle pale. I have a ground probe. 8 other sticks and 6 other montis doing very well. I even have a sunset monti that was almost dead when I got it that's made a full recovery. I did change to leds 8 weeks ago but 3 of the occurances the frags were under 300 par and looking great prior to.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I was hesitant to start this thread because so little is known but maybe I'm overlooking something.
