Hey guys, I have a small piece of GSP i picked up from the LFS and i was wondering, considering i have live rock rubble on hand, could I put the GSP on the substrate and surround it with live rock rubble so that it has room to grow but also so it does not take over my main rock structure? if you have done something similar please tell me about it

I love when people grow it on the back wall of their tanks or their overflow. Something to think about.

I can grow every softie under the sun really fast, lots of lps too. My GSP has just never taken off. I wish it would. I mean everything else has monster growth and my gsp is so weak :/

I will be trying to grow it on my back wall soon. As far as now, it has stayed find on its one island as suggested. If you do surround it with rubble rock and it spreads you could always sell/trade for other frags.

Well I want the GSP to grow on the rubble, that was the whole reasoning for it, so instead of my taking a whole piece of rock out to frag it, i can just simply frag off single pieces of the rubble.

Isolation is the key with GSP. Make sure to give them a wide birth on all sides. GL.

If you want to create some frags though, just super glue or epoxy some small rocks to the main colony. (sides) Once they've spread to the rubble, it should be real easy to just pop the pieces off.

I put some on my overflow thinking it would be fun to cover it. It's growing pretty fast and now I'm worried it will take over the world. The scraper is coming out soon to push it back.

I also added a small flat frrag of the neon green star polyps and it has now covered half of the face of my overflow ! Once it starts to interrupt the water flow I will frag it back. If you do this place frag at furthest corner from lights and it will grow towards the light! I love the motion of it with the flow. ,,it looks like a grassfeild blowing in the wind!
