Continuing hypo with no ich

I put a coppeband butterfly in my QT three days ago. I thought I saw a few white spots so I started hypo treatment and lowered the salinity twice in two days.

The CBB is not showing any signs of ich today. Should I keep lowering it just in case? Doesn't hypo lead to less stress to the fish? Does anyone use hypo on fish without ich?

If you think he has ich then you should treat him for four weeks minimum. I do not believe that hypo stresses fish as long as the salinity is lower slooowly.

Hypo is generally used to treat a parasite. ie. ich
