>What is RS232 serial port function?
The serial port allows the controller to be connected to your PC so that the datalogs, status, etc. can be imported into your PC through AquaNotes.
>Web Server?
Serves web pages so that you can see current status, datalogs, etc. through a standard internet browser.
>Telnet server?
Similar in function to the serial port, but instead uses the ethernet port for communication to the PC.
>RS485 serial port?
Multi-drop serial protocol. Single pair of wires can connect multiple controllers to one serial port on the PC.
>External moden support?
Allows an external modem to be connected to the controller for outgoing pages, dial-in communcation to a PC.
>Digital imputs and outputs?
Digital inputs are for connection to float switches, pressure transducers, water on the floor sensors. The controller can monitor these inputs, and then turn devices on/off or signal an alarm.
The outputs are used to create a very reliable hardwired control output. The outputs are wired to external relays which are used to turn on/off large pumps, lights, chillers, etc. These outputs are somewhat obsolete now that we have the DC4 and DC8 boxes.
