controlling mushrooms

when I first set my tank up I introduced some purple mushrooms,I have since moved more towards sps could any one please give me some advice on controlling these they are spreading at a alarming rate. I have removed some rocks full of them but feel I would have to remove all the rocks from my 7' system will they give of toxins and kill my sps if I try to cut them of the rock work where they are getting to close to my other corals.Many thanks dave mc.

A buddy of mine had the same problum with yumas, and xenia. the only way that we found kept them gone was peel off as muc as possible with fingernail so you leave nothing on the rock then what cant be puleed is cut make a kalk paste and smear then two part epoxy spread over to cover it. those things are worse then damsels!

Get something that likes to eat them! and when there gone take it out. I have found with many things I do I can find something that eats them. You could probably go for some kind of hungry butterfly or something. Just monitor the fish or invert whatever you choose to make sure it does not pick at anything you do want to keep.

This would work well as long as your unemployed and have all day to sit and watch the tank. To take this idea a step further, put all wanted coral into another tank and keep all unwanted coral in a seperate tank with non reef safe fish in it.
If all else fails sell or trade the rocks with shrooms on them and get new lr.
