Well I haven't really ran much carbon since the start of the new system.. just doing basic water changes and running a HUGE modded Skimmer.. but today during my routine maintenance Saturday I decided to clean out a cascade canister filter I have and load it with carbon.. my tanks always crystal clear but even my girlfriend noticed that it was much clearer then normal.. BUT the moral of this story is I've never noticed till now running almost a gallon worth of carbon how much my Skimmer stopped skimming..
I'm saying it used to pull a 1/2 gallon of scum out of the tank per day.. I'm lucky to have 2 cups in it right now 12 hours later after adding the carbon into the system filtration .. so I can honestly say YES run carbon on your tank it definitely helps on all aspects ...
