Coolest new addition

Do you have power heads in your tank? Jelly fish should be in a tank designed for them. What store sold you that?

I got it from reefscavengers and it is a low flow jelly that doesn't require high flow or at least that is how they are advertising it

I got it from reefscavengers and it is a low flow jelly that doesn't require high flow or at least that is how they are advertising it. It got into the stream of the power head it it ripped it's edge and went flying across the tank. I wanted to try to keep it since it was only 7.99

Reefscavengers...never heard of them and they lied. That doesn't belong in any tank with fish corals or power heads.
Shame

That you bought something you shouldn't have. Jelly fish don't live in reef tanks. They need a special designed tank. Most zoos have trouble even keeping them alive. I'd say a week tops. Probably less seeing that it already ripped..

Have you ever seen what happens when anemones get shredded in a pump?....im thinking along the lines of that for starters... and things like that usually happen when your not around to fix them quickly with a closeto 50% better water change..... justmy two pieces

Jelly fish have stinging cells, when it dies or bumps a fish, it will probably kill them or your tank. IMO

I just went to see if I can cut and paste what it says and they changed it ... it used to say something along the lines of they stink the plankton they eat but their sting is not powerful enough to hurt any corals or inverts, now it says they won't sting your hand, but it still says completely reef safe and it won't let me cut and paste

im just voicing my concern from experiance and concern id hate to read the post about you 8 dollar jelly fish nuking your reef tank thats all just trying to help you might get lucky for a lil while but the odds are def against that jellyfish

I'd remove it from your reef tank. 7.99 isn't worth risking your tank. Plain and simple, they don't belong in a reef tank, they lied to you. Theres no way it will be able to fight the suction of a power head. Its just not possible long term. Do a search for Jelly fish, don't believe what a online store is trying to push on you. Its a shame stores like that get away with stuff like this.

You can see in your video of it stinging and holding on to the tenecales of your frogspawn coral. save your tank.

Check out jelliquarium.com It has explanations of how to care for jellies and why you need a special aquarium for them.

Jellies can damage other things in your tank with their potent stinging cells. Also, they simply cannot survive in a regular box-shaped aquarium. They need what is called a kreisel tank. It provides a particular flow scheme to keep them from bumping into the walls and causing damage to themselves. This cannot be achieved in your tank. Inevitably, it will become lodged in a powerhead or become stuck in a corner of the tank and die.
