Copepod Addition Procedure?

When adding copepods to the tank/refugium most of the vendors say 'just dump them in'. Is this safe?

What about QT? but that wouldn't really work with something so little?

If you QT them you will kill them.

They should be OK to just dump in, but if you want you can do an accelerated acclimation process by floating the bag for a while and adding some tank water. It certainly won't hurt.

QT shouldn't be necessary.

I just purchased 2 bags of copepods and mysids from seawater express. I just dumped half a bag in each of my tanks and have been doing this about 3-4 times a year. So far I haven't had problems.

Just make sure about your source. I like to go w/Seawater Express because he is a hatchery and this is the specialty.
Another good source is seahorse source. I have purchased from both w/no problems just dumping into tank.
