just noticed hundreds of specs of these white dots on the front glass of my tank that are definitely moving.. are these most likely copepods?

I currently only have 2 ocellaris clowns in the tank and several snails.

anything to worry about / do to control them or just let it run?

Let them go they are very good, I'm currently trying to boom the population in my tank to house a pair of manderin gobys , they only eat pods.

where did they come from lol?

I didn't introduce any... I started with dry rock... theres no refugium etc.

will ocellaris clowns eat copepods?

Everything will eat copepods however certain fish are specially adept to hunting and eating these. Clowns are not the best copepod hunters so they will not likely do any noticable work on the pod population.. Leave the copepods be its part of a healthy tank

do u have any cheato or anything of that sort in ur refugium ? if so it more then likely came in the marco algae.

Unless I am mistaken, they will move into the rock and sandbed as they get bigger. My tank had them all over the glass toward the end of the cycle. I'm guessing they came from the sandbed as I started with dry rock.

I'm pretty sure the leopard wrasse I got was the end of them.

I hadn't seen any in the longest time, then bam, they were everywhere. the wife would stick her face to the glass to watch them, added my ruby head wrasse from to the DT and bam, they were gone within 2-3 days.

i was trying to boom the population of my pods so i can house a pair of psychedelic gobys, came home the other day and my wife was like surprise i bout a fish. it was a 6 line wrasse, i couldn't get mad but bye bye went the pods.

yea that six line kind of put a damper on the plans for two dragonets.. they don't mix well.

How were you 'booming' the population?
