i put copper in my tank because of fish disease. i tore down the tank and re set it up. i was wondering if i could still use the sand if i clean it real good with fresh water and put carbon in the filter or? thanks for your replies
There is always going to be a risk of it remaining in the sand. I would play it safe and not reuse it. Or you could put some in a container and fill it with RO/DI water and test over a week or so to check for copper in the water. If none is present, then you should be ok. Just remember that it may take some time to leech out so don't test right away and assume everything is ok.
